Metal Shipping Containers (Potential scam?)

Want to get out of Maryland with the smart people...
So, I have looked on Marketplace for shipping containers because our 'build' may take 6-8 months and rental $$ would be lost.
EVERY shipping container listed seemed to list a locale in So Md...BUT they are NOT selling it there. They all want e-mails, phone # and won't allow personal inspection.
So Who knows what is going on?
Any reputable delivery of containers out there?
I need to eventually get it down to coast NC and I need to know how to do that.
Open for suggestions.

You will find most are like that. I got luck with mine, a company in Florida was actually the broker. A driver picked it up in Baltimore and delivered it. You won’t be able to inspect, all they do is guarantee doors lock and no leaks. If you desire a nice one you have to get a one trip container, it will cost you though.

No...I have an imminent build down in NC & I need to story my household on site...then convert the storage container into tool shed for a while...resell next Fall after the dust settles.

Gotcha ... so you need the container here or there ?

OK that greatly complicates the situation ....

I would have a container delivered to the home site then pay a mover to move your house hold goods / pack your own truck other wise

Delivery Drop off of Container [ maybe you can arrange Box and Trailer
Rent a Crane and Operator to Load on a special trailer

Pay Driver to Your New Homestead

In NC

Rent a Crane and Operator to unload

Trailer is ONLY rated for the empty box

Whoa...looks like you have got the contract all ready for me!
AND yes...the next hurdle is the pick up from So Md....and delivery 330 miles south. There are a variety of trucking methods I need to explore,...but that MAY be a different thread. Right now...I am on the brink of pulling the trigger on a forty foot, for 2800 delivered no tax added.
SO...time to research the move down to NC...who knows a local trucking company???🤔🤔

again you will need a Crane to life this on to a trailer ... once you fill the box this will be too heavy to drag up a tilt bed ... I'd be surprised if you could get a 40 footer delivered without some type of crane

OK so apparently there are ' tilt bed ' or roll back delivery options for 40'ers

These are all 20 ft'ers

The problem I see is loading and unloading the container. I have moved 20' containers but I have tractors with front-end loaders and it still wasn't simple. Good Luck.
I had two 20" connex's that I had moved from Trent Hall to Indiana. I bought them from a yard near the Coast Guard Station in Baltimore and hired a man with a Low-boy equipment trailer to haul them out to Indiana. When I bought them the salesman gave me a can of spray paint to make the ones that I wanted to buy.
I just jacked the front up about 8" and he winched them right up on the trailer.

There are web sites to hire a trucking co to haul them. Bubby Knott hooked me up with the man I used to move them to Indiana.

Trent Hall? Senator Paul Bailey gave me Dahlia bulbs (the giant dinner plate Dahlia) from there a million years ago. I LOVED that man. My understanding is he donated Trent Hall to the state at his passing. They called him the silver tongue. Oh, the stories he told. He gave me so much wisdom. The first 4 term Senator in Maryland.
