Did anybody else get notice that Metcom is wanting to raise rates?

I'm not sure I am reading it right but

Water
Capital Contribution Charge $702.61
System Improvement Charge $2.80EDU

Sewer
Capital Contribution Charge $1,491.51
System Improvement Charge $8.75 EDU

Doesn't that seem a little excessive?

METCOM is holding hearings
tonight at Bay District Volunteer Fire Dept at 7pm
Tomorrow at Leonardtown HS at 7pm
and Thursday at Chopitcon HS at 7pm

Perhaps someone can explain this to me better than what I am assuming, so I won't be so :jameo:

Someone(s) have to pay for those that don't or have reduced rates. That's where you and I step in, I'm assuming. :ohwell:

Whats the purpose of these public meetings anyways? Just for them to tell you face to face how bad they are going rape you?

Yep. :lol: But those of us who want to be informed without back speak get a chance to go and listen to the explanation and ask questions. I'd rather be informed so I can watch my bill better. Also it gives the public a chance to voice their concerns.

Do you think they will give you a "real" explanantion? Our rates are going up becuase of the breaks low income housing gets and probably all the new construction. Instead of charging the contractors somebody knows somebody so they will just pass the bill on to the consumer.

Wow, I pay $45 a month. Not $30. That's w/out overages: I don't water my lawn or wash my car or antyhing. Just 2 people living plainly.

Enjoy it if you pay less.

I have well water. I only pay for sewer.

I got the notice, hubby told me instead of $44 it will be around $70 :jameo: that's a lot more

Oh man. So my bill would roughly be $50-60 a month to flush the toilet. :faint: Does anybody know how much port-a-potties are?

Thank you all for making me happy that I live in the ranch club. Most of the time it really sucks, but seeing the way the Metcomm is treating you guys makes my problems seem smaller.

I can't beleive they charge you guys so much for something they get from the ground for free, and to transport your sewage to "accidentally" dump in the bay untreated.

Yikes! I pay about $40 something now, I hope it doesn't go up that high....I need to find that METCOM notice...

The meetings are information telling you what is going to be updated with equipment, because the old might be close to being faulty. dont want metcom backing up on ya? $45.-60. is not bad. How bout $8,000-10,000 for a new well I am not sure what a septic and drain field goes for haven't needed one replaced. At $50. a month it would take 12 yrs to replace the cost of someone to dig a well with todays low end quote. So it is either you pay for someone else to take care of #### and not have to worry about it once you flush. The convience is ...something is wrong pick up the phone and they get someone out pretty fast and fix the problem.
