Kind of a hijack at this point in the thread but I've done this run close to a dozen times- it's AWESOME!! The last 37 miles from Bahia Honda to Key West can be tough on man and machine because you have to run "on the outside" but the rest of the run can be done "on the inside" which is pretty calm.

It's worth doing if you can and not everyone runs wide open throttle all of the time. There are actually speed limits this year due to quite a few incidents on the poker run circuit the last few years.

I've run that route, and much farther north and west at each end, many times, but never in an open go-fast boat. Always been in yachts, commercial vessels or naval vessels.
