Michigan Vote Count 2016 Election

Asking myself why it took Michigan so long to finally tally up the vote and give the state to Trump, the only logical conclusion I could come up with is:

It had to be a union job - one counter, five on break or just observing.

In MD here are the rules for absentee:

If you mail your ballot, the envelope must be postmarked on or before election day (November 8, 2016) and received by your local board of elections by 10 am on May 6, 2016 (for the primary election) or November 18, 2016 (for the general election).

You expect them to count votes before they are in?

In Michigan, according to the Google totals, the difference between Trump and Clinton is 13,000 out of almost 4.8 million total votes cast. How loudly would you be whining if the roles were reversed???
