which private school? We're also looking at some too but really like public school. Have a friend who' kid goes to Grace Lutheran in LaPlata and they really like it.

Grace Lutheran and the open house is February 15th at 7:00....I heard it was a great school and we will be sending her there for sure.

English 1 is the very basic English class you can take, it's basically for slackers and problem kids. Pace setters is the next level up, its a new thing they started a few years back. It is a much more interactive way of teaching and learning. It's good for kids who are outgoing and good with groups. Rather than just reading and writing the whole time, they do other things such as skits, and presentations. Then there is honors, which is formatted like English 1 but, there is more work and is fast paced, for the smarter kids in the school.

Basically the kids that are failing Pace Setters, it is because they choose not to try and just don't care, the class is way to easy if you participate.

But I don't like Mrs. Highsmith so the decision does suck!

Um such ashame you described English 1 this way. My daughter has a learning disability and she has come very far with that. (And never took one of those darn pills to help her "learning disability" either) She is by no means a problem child. And some kids just don't like to do "skits;" if they wanted skits, isn't that what Theatre is for? Anyway I just feel it was a wrong decision at the last moment.

Not if you live in Calvert County.

Yeah I heard Calvert Schools arent as good as everyone says. My friends kid came home saying the same things my other Friend in Waldork kids says. Just because the "stats" are low there....means absolutely nothing.
