It is sad. I don't know what the final outcome will be but they are already talking about the girl being a compulsive liar. That may be the case and she may not have been assaulted by a superior but somebody definitely killed her so can we at least focus on that before we start the smear campaign?

Didnt see it, whats it about?

A DeMille book that made it to the movies. Young Army officer, daughter of a driven and driving general, found naked, murdered, staked out on Dad's post. Follows the investigation by military and civilian authorities. Good movie if you're a John Revolta fan.

:nono: They said that evidence on the body points to the guy that's missing.

"Brown said authorities had obtained physical evidence of Lauterbach's death that also linked Lauren to the case.

He said investigators are looking for the woman's body in a residential wooded area in Onslow County."

No,..they still don't have a body.
Unless you're getting new or different info from somewhere.

I'm assuming (this is probably a stupid question) that the pregnancy is a result of the rape?

I'm not sure what physical evidence they could have the proves her dead if they dont have the body. Possibly a large amount of blood found somewhere. They really didnt give enough information to know.

Onslow County authorities say they believe they found the shallow grave of a pregnant Marine in the back yard of a comrade she accused of rape.

They also think they have found evidence inside his home suggesting that Lance Corporal Maria Lauterbach had been killed.

Sheriff Ed Brown says investigators are treating the case as a homicide.

But he says the prime suspect, Corporal Cesar Armando Laurean, left a note insisting that Lauterbach had killed herself.

Onslow County District Attorney Dewey Hudson says after some slight digging in a fire pit discovered Laurean's yard, detectives found what "appeared to be burnt human remains." Hudson says the skeletal remains are likely those of Lauterbach. LINK

It sounds like she was a troubled person. May she and her baby rest in peace.

I read one article saying that the evidence in the house simply does not match the note left by the suspect saying that the victim killed herself. Besides if someone showed up at your house (if that is what happened) and killed theirself would you bury them in your backyard?????

Alot of this story does not add up.......

Plus it seems the suspect is married.......where was she when he was burying the body?????????????????
