Missing Marine found dead

I read one article saying that the evidence in the house simply does not match the note left by the suspect saying that the victim killed herself. Besides if someone showed up at your house (if that is what happened) and killed theirself would you bury them in your backyard?????

Alot of this story does not add up.......

Plus it seems the suspect is married.......where was she when he was burying the body?????????????????

It's highly doubtful she cut her own throat. I wouldn't bury a body there but I'm not a stupid 21 year old. His wife might have helped for all we know. But you're right, there are a lot of unanswered questions.

She was found charred up. This crazy man burned her up in a fire pit in his backyard and.... if that isn't sick enough, he invited friends over to join in a little bonfire. :twitch:

Could you imagine later learning that you stood over a bonfire that a body was being burned up? Or it may have already been burned up and he was burning it up some more.

It sounds as if this girl was mercifully harassed by Laurean's friends, rumors circulated that she was insane but wouldn't you be? You were raped, got pregnant, his buddies are keying your car, saying nasty horrid things about you and everyone around is saying you are a bi-polar lunatic out to get him?

I'll spare everyone everything I read and just post the time line.

NC Wanted - Marines Provide New Timeline

Now the question remains, did Christine, the wife, have anything to do with the cover up? They found blood all over Laurean's house and it was painted over. Laurean lied lied lied, to everyone and anyone that could listen but there was one thing in the way, the baby soon to be born would have vindicated Maria. He had motive.

Hmmm, this is curious don' t you think?

Pandora's timeline page said:
May 11: Lauterbach confides to her superior officer that she was raped by Laurean.
May 12: Lauterbach is assigned to a new duty location to reduce her contact with Laurean.
May 24: A formal protective order is issued against Laurean.
June 24: Protective order renewed.

June 27: Lauterbach becomes ill and discovers she is pregnant. Her doctor estimates her conception date to be May 14. She claims Laurean is the father.

Within a week of informing her superior she gets pregnant. But she claimed the rapes occurred in March and April. She gets moved away from him and has a protective order against him. Yet she claims he's the father. Did his swimmers hang around a couple months in her V. until May? Or did she not not report another 'rape'?

Pandora's timeline page said:
November 5: At this time, Lauterbach retracts her allegations that Laurean was the father of her child, but maintains that he raped her.

Ooops, her story is starting to crumble. Then she disappears.

Lenny,

She hasn't disappeared. She and the baby are dead. They have enough DNA from the dead baby girl to determine paternity. Just those results are not in yet.

She claims sexual assault in March and April, but it is unclear as to if that was a rape or not. A sexual assault could be as minor as ass grabbing. On May 11 she reports a rape, was it a rape that happened THAT day or prior? To be off a couple of days means nothing in the pregnancy world, conception dates are close but not 100%. I believe sperm can live in your body for 3 days.

Her story did sound fishy. She had severe credibility issues. I was sure she had gone AWOL to get away from the hole she had dug for herself.

But......

Once she turned up in that fire pit, and Laurean ran away, it became obvious she was murdered. I don't care if she made up every word of her accusations, he was not justified in killing her. And now he has shown his true character by running away from the consequences of his actions, just like a scared little boy.

Official court document - took a long time to load if Lenny, or anyone else, is interested in looking at it and I agree with you MM. But I think she was truthful about all this from the jump.

Even in the official court document, it says that the sexual assault occurred in close proximity to the estimation of conception.

I wish I could copy/cut and paste those portions here but wouldn't let me.

In my...

A DeMille book that made it to the movies. Young Army officer, daughter of a driven and driving general, found naked, murdered, staked out on Dad's post. Follows the investigation by military and civilian authorities. Good movie if you're a John Revolta fan.

...opinion, it didn't make it to the movie. This is the most egregious example I can think of where a very good book gets pretty much completely lost in translation. Other than the title.

Good book.

Horrific movie.

I realize you are for some reason totally invested in these cases (including Stacey Peterson) and I am not contending the dude didn't kill her, burn the body and run. What I am pointing out is that she changed her story numerous times, mother confirms that. There was (at the time of the timeline hacks) at least one other sperm-donor involved. And at the time of the time hacks, neither you nor anyone else, had the advantage of 20/20 hindsight.

Have managed to collect all DeMille's books on iPOD, had read or listened to most (reworking my way through the list during the commute). I agree the book was much better than the movie, but I am a Madeline Stowe fan so I enjoyed it. Have to live with the fact John Revolta was in it too.

I enjoy reading, following True Crime, and the psychological make up of the players involved in these types of cases.

The DNA evidence will either support the story she has told or it will not, either way, she was found dead in his backyard, blood was detected in the house, and he is missing.

Nothing I have read has made it clear if on May 11th, when she reported a rape, if it was that day, the prior day or the reference to the sexual assaults she claims Laurean did in March and April. But why kill her if he knew there wasn't a possibility he fathered this child? Cause he hated her?

Like I said, DNA evidence will make or break it.

...I don't. I will NOT watch it. Book rape.

Obviously, you enjoy listening to books or you wouldn't do it. I've never tried it because I fear it would put me to sleep just like it did when I was 2.

And my passengers won't like that. :lmao:

Give it a shot! Books on Tape, the unabridged ones, are fantastic if you're a commuter. Pick something with a good reader and a bit of action and pretty soon you're sitting in your driveway for ten minutes at night waiting for the good parts to end! I found them to be a huge stress reliever in slow/stopped traffic situations. I could reccommend a couple good ones if you're interested, you can get them on CD from the library.
