The Bina update
Thank you everyone for the concern of my baby Bina. Bina is a 7 mo. old Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff). She is Blue in color and has two white back paws. She is also a funny, loving, licking family member. My name is Laura and I am her mommy. Diamondgirl was kind enough to allow me to use her name till I can get to post.
The whole story is as follows.
Last Saturday during the State Police open house my husband and I took Bina and Bella on their first walk. (we are learning and training). An 18 year old girl ran the barracade and while paying attention to other than where she was going she plowed her vehicle into my entire family along with Kim from SARDOM.
Bina and Bella went under the vehicle and then ran in different directions. Chewy, the search dog, tracked Bella to the woods at Main and Armory Road where she was eventually saved by Kim and Jim of SARDOM.
Chewy was not able to get a track on Bina however. She ran south toward the firestation on route 4 and possibly over route 4.
A possible sighting was last Monday at the Industrial Park on 231 but long searches even with horses have not panned out.
Any information is appreciated.
The team at SARDOM along with Diamondgirl and many others have voluntered their time to finding my baby girl. Each day these selfless individuals have walked thru the woods, mud, briers, and every bad area to make it easy on my family and to find my baby.
Hopefully she will be home soon.
The community in Calvert has changed me in a way I have never been changed before. The love and care of Calvert County has now made this my perminent home.

I am sorry to hear your puppy is missing. I hope you all are able to find her soon as I bet she misses her family dearly. I will continue to pray for her safe return home.

Q. What happened to 18 year old.
A. She didn't call her insurance company to report accident.
She told insurance when they contacted her "I hit the trailer but I dont think I hit anyone." If I could string her up....I would. She has turned my familys life upside down and shows no remorse. The troopers gave her citations but were unable to arrest in Maryland for traffic violation. I myself am a DC Police Officer and understand what they did and why. They actually helped my case than hurt it with the criminal charge that would not stick.

Received a call from a woman saying that Bina was observed on Wednesday at Sixes Road on the pipe line.
While passing out flyers today (10/26) I was advised by a girl that her boyfriend saw Bina at Food Lion on Saturday early morning at about 2:30 am. He works at Food Lion and she was in the parking lot.
Please help by looking out for her.

I'll keep an eye out for her. I live in the area and shop in PF. I really hope she's returned to you soon. Do you think she'd come up to a stranger if called?

No information at this time.
Bina is an extremely friendly puppy. She has been hit by the vehicle and ran off scared and gone for 1 week and 2 days. I dont know how she is going to react at this point.
I do know that she is food motivated in every aspect. She will probably get thru the fear for a good tasting treat.
I know that she has never bitten or harmed anyone and is always licking the heck out of everyone she met.
If you see her and are worried just call animal control. They are searching for her also.

In yesterdays Calvert Recorder, there was a small article about her missing. I hope that helps bring her home safe and sound and SOON!

Bina was found this morning in the woods by the search and rescue squad. She has a large gash on her hind quarter and she is very very thin (lost 18 lbs). All and all she is doing very well. We took her to the hospital and they will do surgery for the gash in the morning.
We then brought her home......smiles all over me.
She ate well and took some meds the doc gave her. She then laid on the couch and she is out like a light.
She is feeling very good right now.
THANK YOU to everyone that was involved and concerned for Bina. I could not of made it thru this without the help of the community. I wish a thank you was enough but it doesn't compare to the support of Calvert County.

That is great news! I am happy your baby is home safe and sound. She will probably sleep like a log for awhile. Was they any infection from the wound being open for so long?
