I don't give a rats ass that he is hanging in there, I will always be eternally grateful that he orchestrated the conservative SCOTUS takeover! Nuff said!

Can you imagine a SCOTUS majority with that piece of chit Merrick Garland sitting on the bench?

We need people who actually have a stake in the way this country is run. This life long service has done anything but serve We The People. They're just in there to enrich themselves and their families *coughcoughbidencoughcough*. They couldn't care less how their constituents live and die.
Their self-serving lavish lifestyle IS their stake in the way the country is run. There is zero incentive for them to ever change it.

Give me a plush office, paid flunkies to serve my every desire ,guards to watch my home, drive me around and kiss my ass daily , a nice pay check the opportunity to get rich, perks, and lobbyists offering gifts, and free trips paid for by the taxpayers, and I wouldn't want to give it up either.

By the way Wings of Gold forgot to mention our boy Steny, who spent years genuflecting and making love to Pelosi's buttocks and is 84 years old and never worked a day of it.

Maybe get a nationwide referendum in the next presidential ballot to set congressional term limits. IDK the procedure, but maybe someone better versed in such things will chime in.
Not sure how you get there. Need to happen on local and state levels first, I think.
Well, as it would be a change to the Constitution, it would need 2/3 of both chambers of Congress, or 2/3 of the States, to call for a Convention to amend the Constitution. And if that succeeds it would then need 3/4 of the States for ratification.

Thank you sir. I knew you would know, I was too groggy this morning to tag you on the post.

The problem here is, he’s easily replaced by an appointment by a Democrat governor.

Kentucky passed laws with a process that the Govenor has to follow.
It will be from the same party and from a list of three? Choices given to him from
Mitches staff? As I recall.

Then I see no reason for him to continue - ditto for Feinstein and possibly Fetterman. We should not have some strange loyalty to persons in office to blind us to the fact that they're not doing their job. They work for us. A bad employee, I'd fire - an employee who cannot DO the job needs to move on.

Pretty close, the law says that the 3 choices will be "submitted by the state executive committee of the same political party as the Senator who held the vacant seat to be filled".

Except, unless the Senate expels him or he resigns there is nothing to force him out.

As to these "spells" I heard that they are believed to be resulting from a concussion he suffered from one of his many recent falls.

And as to "They work for us" they actually work for their constituents of their state and if they don't feel the need or desire to vote him out there isn't much that can be done.

Think about this. He doesn't need to resign, He could just be relieved from his leadership position and become just another Rino instead of the leading Rino. But of course the republicans haven't got the balls to do that.

Thats why I put the question marks in my post. I remember reading they had made some changes so the governor couldn't change party's for whoever it was being replaced.

What I have read out here is, Mitch is having petit mal seizures. His family and Team and a few others in DC, should be ashamed that they keep letting him/her go to work.

And why is that, in my lifetime I have known plenty of folks who have occasional seizures and have still lived productive lives. Of course they don't drive or work in a hazardous environment but they still live and work and play, get married and have children.

And that is why I posted an excerpt of the actual text of the law, answering your question.

Well, given he got an alleged "clean bill of health" by those doctors as being fit for work it doesn't seem to be that big of a deal (at least for them).
