Wanted to share this with you guys, took my mom's car in today, never been there before, had no appt, they took me right away, were very nice and professional, the place is immaculate, I mentioned that she may need a "filter change" also, they were fast I was in and out, and here's what I really liked, they told me no her filter was just fine, now I was ready to pay for a new filter, they could have told yes she needed one ( I would have never known the difference LOL ) but they were very honest and said no the filter was just fine. So I'm posting this because from my experience hopefully our area will support them especially since they were honest enough to let me know that my mom's filter was just fine.

I'm sorry I'm not sure what exactly they did, I took the receipt put it in my mom's car glove compartment then dropped the car off at her house , I know they did put air in her tires she was so low on air that was easy for me to see, the cost was about $67, they have different services I got the one in the middle done for my mom.

I used them once recently. Nothing negative to say. I had my own oil and filter already (I do all my own oil changes). This time around I just couldn't find the time to do it. So I went there and they used my supplies. IF I used their Mobil 1 oil for my diesel, an oil change was gonna be over 200 bucks :oops:

I use Mobil 1 for Turbo Diesels. It's quite pricey doing the change myself, I can just imagine what a shop would charge. I never see the turbo diesel stuff go on sale with the other Mobile 1 products. Is that the same stuff you use?

No, No Mobil 1 yet or any synthetics. Haven't switched over to a synthetic, been meaning to though. Still using factory Motorcraft

I use the 0-40 in my old mercedes diesel, works well on 7500 mile change frequency. Pricey though and 8 quarts a change.

Your talking about an air filter right, not an oil filter as I read on one of the replies.

I would bet a shop that checked and topped off the air didn't leave the old oil filter. most likely the air or cabin filter. $67 sounds right for a dino oil and filter cost.

Not sure why they would say the filter is just fine. Sort of defeats the purpose of changing the oil if you don't change the filter as well.

:whack: sometimes it pays to read the entire thread before reacting :)

What is a "Cabin Filter" Alex?

Which is cheap and in some cases my be harder to replace than either the oil or air filter. You often have to pop the glove box out to get access to the filter. (which means emptying the glove box).... and not breaking the safety catch... after that it's easy.

Depends, of course. Wife 2015 Jeep Cherokee, it's a simple 15 second task, it hides behind a piece of trim in the center console, slide it over, and the tabs to open it up are right there. Older BMWs, it's two thumbscrews right under the hood by the cowl.

Cabin filter on my Jeep is behind the glove box. Very easy to change.

My 2000 GMC Sierra was a total pain. Had to crawl under the dash and remove a huge section of trim. My 2014 Sierra is much better, but you still have to take the glovebox out.
