"Modern Sporting Rifles" .....

Man, I'm still here !!!
I would still like to know the premise of your question "WTF do you do with these"? Are you saying there's no reason to own 'assault' rifles?

Thought i spelled it out, do you plink, hunt etc etc It that the number one firearm you're going to grab when a home invasion happens, And some sucker is coming up the stairs with your child in next room? If you just like to blast sh1t fine, your allowed by law right????? Mines a 12 gauge/slugger barrel with 00.

just wondering dude, never even held one, I'm more of the one shot one kill mentality, unless target shooting or plinking I don't see the need?

The only "need" that ever matters is simply to want one. And target shooting and plinking is what I do with the .223/5.56 ARs but I've hunted for decades with the larger caliber AR variants; they make great hunting rifles in densely wooded country and where yr constantly climbing stuff.

Friends of mine that own Class III machine guns certainly don't "need" those either, but they are an absolute hoot to shoot or even to just watch someone shoot.

It's because the AR-15 is such a weak rifle that all the larger caliber upgrades have been developed. But the true kings of the "sporting rifle" are the Russians and other former eastern block countries. Rifles like this VEPR, for example, that put an AR to shame and have unlimited supplies of cheaper (than AR-15 .223) ammo readily available everywhere....but Diane Fienstein can't spell "VEPR" and she and her ilk have a narrative to manage.

Actually, the one in the pic is the 12-gauge model; it's the one chambered in 7.62x54r that is the big boy.

Aside from the fact that their just fun to shoot, 20 years in the military has taught me to go with what's comfortable. Although I'd typically reach for my shotgun during a home invasion, I like having as many tools as possible. But my reasonings go beyond home invasion. The goal of the citizenry should be that we are as well-armed as our military; and I think you know the reasoning behind that. I've run into too many people telling me "you don't need that"; wanting to dictate how I decide to defend myself. Your question came off that way.

The full-auto range is out in western VA, located on the top of a ridge in a 6500-acre campground. Have a 75-yard pistol range, skeet shooting range, and 500-yard rifle range right here in the county. I'm not aware of any full-auto ranges anywhere near St. Mary's.

My property is a DNR-licensed waterfowl hunting site, on shore hides as well as offshore blinds. Shotgun only, of course.

Around here? I go to Myrtle Grove public shooting range near La Plata. You have to purchase a permit for $20 for the year. The range is only 100 yards, but it's a place to shoot.

So I guess yr going to try and convince me there won't be any zombie dinosaurs. Well just maybe they will be terrorizing people somewhere else only because they know I have a .50 Beowulf AR. Betcha didn't think of that...

Yep we have an iron clad guarantee that no zombie dinos will show up here...word spreads fast
