My son bought on 4 years ago from American Dreams in Hughesville. Cost 75,000. They bent over backwards to please him. Very satisfied with it. Added a 3 car garage with a large room over it. with well and septic and the garage he has 140,000 in it. He could sell it tomorrow for at least 300,000. sits on 7 acres of land in tax hell Calvert County.
did that 140,000 include the land?

I sure wish my no-load sons would get together and buy me a beautiful new modular home. But my sons are selfish bastages who deserted their mother when they got married to their floozy wives.

Poor Fruitcake Lady. :bawl: Why don't you come live with me. I have tons of room. You'd be 3 miles to Rehoboth Beach. We can to the boardwalk together to watch the young men in their speedo's! :cartwheel

My youngin's are grown & moved away too. But mine were great kids. You should cut those bastages outta the will. That would tune up their asses!I'm ready for some real excitment. Whatta ya say?

You are so sweet to offer, NP, but I'm going to have to pass. I swore that once my kids moved out, I would never live with anyone else again, unless it is that cute Alex Trebeck who I have a crush on. I'm a difficult person to live with, and I am stuck in my ways. Besides, I'm thinking that I'm going to drop my worthless sons from my will and life insurance and I'm going to live really well on the money I've saved throughout my life. My bastage boys will have to fend for themselves. Everytime I get a cold these days, I can see the dollar signs in their eyes. Bastages, all three of 'em.

I am thinking about going with a modular home if they can work with my floor plan.

my parents got their home built by the amish for $62,000

No offense, but was that around 30 years ago? You can't buy a house worth of building materials for that today.

watercolor

yeah yeah
There is no possible way now, with the uprising cost of materials that you could get a house for 62,000. Even if it was just the shell.. it would be in the high 80's to mid 90's

5 years ago when I checked into it, for a very small 3 bedroom house (minus the foundation and plumbing) built by the Amish was about $70,000, I can't imagine you could get anything close to your dream home for under that:shrug:

There may not be a direct correlation with new construction, but our house has nearly doubled in value over a little more than five years. So maybe $100K today for an amish built. Plus the impact fees, site prep, land purchase, etc.

yes that price is correct, they bought it with the upstairs unfinnished and my dad completed the work upstairs himself, that did not include the foundation, land, or well , or permits & fees..( just the house)but that purchase was in may 2004

2 bedroom. 2 bath, family room, living room ,kitchen, small mud room, 1 large full room upstairs...
