The man who was arrested in the murder of Mollie Tibbetts, the University of Iowa student who disappeared last month, worked less than three miles from where she was staying the night she vanished.

Cristhian Rivera, 24, was employed by Yarrabee Farms for the past several years, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

The Des Moines Register reported that it reviewed documents that listed several owners of the farm, which included Dane Lang and Eric Lang, both relatives of Craig Lang. Craig Lang, who owns a dozen property deeds in Brooklyn, Iowa, is reportedly a former 2018 Republican candidate for secretary of agriculture in the state.

You forgot this paragraph from the Fox article:

Dane Lang said Rivera worked there for the past several years, and was an "employee in good standing." He also noted that Rivera passed the government's E-Verify employment verification system, despite his status as an undocumented immigrant. The system is intended to maintain a database of I-9 forms and tax records of employees across the country.

And you forgot to read the underlying article Fox referenced:

Read the full statement from Yarrabee Farms below:

“First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Mollie Tibbetts. This is a profoundly sad day for our community. All of us at Yarrabee Farms are shocked to hear that one of our employees was involved and is charged in this case.

This individual has worked at our farms for four years, was vetted through the government's E-Verify system, and was an employee in good standing. On Monday, the authorities visited our farm and talked to our employees. We have cooperated fully with their investigation.

Yarrabee Farms follows all laws related to verifying employees are legal to work in the United States, and we regularly seek outside counsel to ensure we stay up-to-date on employment law matters. We keep records on all employees and have shared that information with authorities.

We appreciate the hard work of law enforcement officials. We will continue to cooperate with authorities as the investigation moves forward.”

I didn't forget anything. The link to the article was posted.

You're interpretation beautifully displays your desire to view it as a partisan rather than a citizen.

You are indeed a devoted Democrat. Beyond all reason.

Congratulations Comrade! :yay:

Well, now that they're going to impeach our President, overthrow our government, and throw our borders wide open, get used to this sort of thing. If the media bothers to report it.

I've worked with many illegals from central America in the span of over 20 years. It was no secret who was illegal. Yet their paperwork for employment passes muster.

One time we had a job at the supreme court building. My employer had to send over documentation for everyone working off site. 2 of the people I know were illegal but somehow they passed the vetting process for access.

Most of them lived in the same neighborhood in northern Virginia. Where they lived was called chirilagua or something that sounded like that. I gave a few people a ride home. I was the only gringo for miles around. So much for living in the shadows. If ICE needs to prop up their numbers, throwing a cordon around this neighborhood would keep them in paperwork for months.

So how do you pass e-verify when you are illegal?

There is a cottage industry of forgers that provide whatever documents illegals need for employment. The fact is the employers KNOW these folks are illegal, but they have the fall back of "well their documents passed e-verify". E-verify is a joke. Start hammering hard any employer of illegals and watch millions flock back to where they came from.

I worked for a local paving contractor for several years. He hired about 5 or 6 Guatemalans. They all had "social security" cards. One of them had been working there for approximately 3 years. He came into the office one day and in very broken english, stated he had a "new" social security card. I thought he meant a replacement card, he said no, a new card. I looked at it, pulled the copy of his old card and sure enough...it was a different number. I had to do a new I-9 form for him. This was long before the E-Verify form. Now, I know a lot of things have changed since I was a kid, many moons ago, but...you are issued only ONE social security number for your entire life....right????

Correct. I also seem to recall that the #25 is never issued, i.e. XXX-25-XXXX That was supposed to be a dead giveaway for a fraudulent number.

I remember not getting a SS# until I was about 10 years old and opening my first bank account. My brother and I got them at the same time and they are 1 digit apart.

Seems SS# are now given to a child at or close to birth.

You don't usually get one from someone that dies either, or from Connecticut ,unless you live there or your name is Obama.
