Mom leaves kids on road

Oh, for cryin' out loud. They were 10 and 12, and 3 miles from home. Like a 10 and 12 year old wouldn't find themselves 3 miles from home at a shopping center without a parent anyway.

As much as I've wanted to do it, I've never done this to my kids. When my best friend was 10, her mother was dealing with alcoholism. Drinking and driving in those days was a common occurance. BF had another friend spending the night with her. They left their home in Hollywood and went to Bushwood to visit her mothers friend. On the way home, at nearly midnight, the mother did this to the two 10 year old girls, pulled over and put them out and drove away. The girls walked until they came to the first house and rang the door bell. Finally someone opened the door to the girls. They explained what happened and the other girl called her parents who drove from Hollywood to Bushwood to retreive the girls. Very true but sad story. The only good that came from this is the mother realized she had hit bottom and put down the bottle for good. We are now in our 40's, and the mother has remained sober.

Lets hope this mother too will receive the help she needs, whatever that may be.

When my sister and I were young (probably 7 and 10), we'd walk a few miles to the 7-11 on 235 and buy candy. All by ourselves.

That is totally wrong no matter what. Those girls could have been kidnapped or raped or worse yet, murdered. There are too many loonies out there to put your kids out on a dark street and just leave them. And yes, I do have kids. Four, so I do know how children are.

"It is a traumatic situation for a child to be abandoned by a parent like that. You can imagine what emotional issues might arise," he said.
Oh for god's sake.

That's why all these weener kids are so emo and can't function: because they have all these drama queen adults telling them they're supposed to be traumatized by everything.

What is your parents' address? I'm going to have them arrested.

Nothing in the article indicated is was dark.

Evening is the period in which the daylight is decreasing, between the late afternoon and night, around the time when dinner is taken. Though the term is subjective, evening is typically understood to begin before sunset, during the close of the standard business day (about 6 pm) – and extend until dusk, the beginning of night. Evening thus spans the period of twilight, but begins before it and depending on definition may extend past its end. This places "evening" typically between 6pm and 8pm.

If the dumb ass kids would have listened in the first place, they wouldn't have been kicked out of the car.

Usually, it's an empty threat: "If you kids don't stop fighting, I'm going to stop this car right now and leave you here!"

Usually I say "if you dont stop fighting I am gonna oull over and beat your ass"

I think they were lucky that Mom did not just slam on the brakes making them fly from their perch on the back dash and then get slapped in the face. Not that I would know anything about that.

I did that with teen boy. Threatened him if he didnt stop I would throw his a$$ out and he can walk home. He walked 1 mile down Rt5 to get to the hood and then hitched a ride with someone he knew to the back of the hood. It didnt work...he said he had a blast:doh:
