Please don't!
Please, don't ever respond to ANYONE who has posted illegal signs on the roads that advertise for anything (We buy junk cars, carpet cleaning, power washing, appliance repair, etc.).
I work for a local Government and we investigate this type of violation. These illegal signs are called "snipe signs", and they are a growing problem across the country. Here locally, we have investigated and traced down the guys who post these illegal signs on everything they can possibly post them on. Keep in mind, that these people are violating local municipal laws, Maryland State Law, and destroying private property. Quite frequently, these illegal signs are stapled, glued, and strapped to light poles, utility boxes, private advertising signs, and mailboxes. This is a flagrant act of vandalism, and I have personally seen private property destroyed by spray adhesives and glue. These people have no regard for you, myself or the community. They are truly a menace.
The investigations revealed that several of these "junk car buyers" are convicted felons in the State of Maryland. A simple search on Maryland Judiciary Case Search (public information) can show that these felons continue to break the law with these signs. Not only that, but inviting someone, felon or not, to your home, knowing that they break the laws within the State of Maryland is a BAD IDEA. These junk buyers, which ultimately trace back to the same group, are involved in vehicle thefts, destruction of property, and many civil lawsuits.
Also keep in mind that ALL of the phone numbers listed on these illegal signs trace back to "disposable" type cell phones. Cheap phones that can be purchased at stores with little or no information that may allow it to be traced back to someone. Anyone that uses these disposable phones in this manner clearly know that they are breaking the law. These signs that litter our community are unsightly, and are basically an act of vandalism. Please, never support someone who violates the law by trashing our County and State.
If you need further information, I would be more than happy to help. I just felt compelled to post here, because I deal with this sort of thing all the time.
