The hoax charge is a felony.
The devices were part of a promotion for the TV show "Aqua Teen Hunger Force," is a surreal series about a talking milkshake and a meatball...oh yeah, I wanna watch THAT. :bigwhoop:

There's no way in hell they can be found guilty of a bomb hoax. Then again, there was no way in hell O.J. Simpson was innocent... :ohwell:

It's hard to describe The Aqua Teen Hunger force to the uninitiated, but it is really funny. This whole Boston debacle certainly holds a little bit more "snicker" value for those of us who follow the show. The Mooninites would be pleased. :lmao:

This has got to be one of the EFFING STUPIDEST things I've ever seen.

Is it just me or doesn't the word 'hoax' imply some sort of intent to present the devices as a bomb. It was a lit up little sign. It didn't look like a bomb. It looked like a lit up little sign. Lit up little signs are ALL OVER Boston. Hell - they're all over Leonartown, MD, for that matter.

These signs have been up for weeks. In 10 cities. To call it a bomb hoax is ludicrous.

Perhaps they have a point with visible wires and batteries. But if that's what they're basing this incredible hysteria on, then a charge of shoddy workmanship is more appropriate than bomb hoax.

To continue persuing criminal charges for this is ridiculous. The city of Boston COMPLETELY overreacted, and they're trying to make these guys into scapegoats because they're embarrassed about it. They complain about a waste of time and taxpayer money - and now they're going to waste more time and taxpayer money persuing trying to prosecute these guys. What a goddam joke.

The one guy, however, should be brought up on charges.... for that HAIR. Now THAT is criminal. Call the friggin fashion police - there's a felony in progress.

Tell that to the dinosaurs who were wiped out by an asteroid!

Yes...these lite brites look just like those devices. If I was going to plant bombs around a city, I'm certainly going to make sure they stand out as much as possible. "I know...I'll have a lit up cartoon character to help these things blend into the background."
SO what would you make bombs look like?? Bombs?? I've never heard of a terrorist leaving a bomb anywhere that actually looked like a bomb..

baby Formula container.. yes.. fire extinguisher.. yes.. Radio.. yes.. camera.. yes.. Stuffed animals.. yes.. dolls.. yes... two sticks of dynamite with visible wires and detontating device.. no.. why not a lightbright? Makes sense to me.

And I admit, that's one point every one here has made - if you're going to blow someone up, you don't make it too obvious. You HIDE bombs, not leave them in the open.

Then again, how come we still haven't heard much about the other nine cities?
Becasue the sun rises in Boston first?? ANd by the time the other cities started finding them Boston had already confirmed what they actually were??

So Turner is saying..

But the locations I think make them more likely to be seen as dangerous then their looks.. attached under a bridge to a steel I-Beam.. attached to the top of a highway sign post.. These people were just plain stupid..

I ddin't hear anything on the news citing witnesses "I don't know that the deal is, I saw it there two weeks ago!"

Four of the packages were discovered near the New England Medical Center, the Longfellow Bridge that connects Boston with Cambridge, the Boston University Bridge and at an intersection in central Boston

The day-long scare began when a suspicious package was found on a steel beam under a bridge in the morning. Police stopped traffic on a major interstate highway north of Boston, cordoned off the area, deployed a bomb squad and blew it up.

The terrorists have already won. Americans are afraid of their own shadow...under the constant stress of the rising state of fear that has been cultivated in this country.

Better outlaw neon signs. They could be bombs. Is that an empty soda can on the ground...or a thermonuclear device. Is that man wearing a wristwatch, or a detonator?!?!
