"WASHINGTON -- Some birthdays are more popular than others -- especially ones in July, August and September -- according to birth data from the federal government.

University of Virginia graduate student Dan Lin analyzed the data in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's vital records from 1994 to 2003 to plot the birthrate for every day of the year, major holidays, days of the week and even seasons. "

So what do those type of stats look like in Australia?

Looks like they only used USA data for this, even more of a reason we should see a more births 9 months after the coldest months. Why is everyone suddenly getting busy in October, November, and December? Are we not pre-occupied with the holidays during that time? Interesting stats to say the least.

Most of the children were conceived in the frosty months. People wanted to stay warm, and this is the way they did it. Old saying is, "When the weather is hot & sticky, that's no time for dunkin dickie, but when the frost is on the pumpkin...that's the time for dickie-Duncan."!

School is back in? More time to be away from the house and with your significant other, regardless of age? Homecoming Prom? Halloween bashes? Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations leading to amorous activities?

Does the study give data on married births vs single parent births?

I'm a September baby (today is my b-day). My parents said they had a few hours to kill before picking up my brother and sister from the sitter's.
