I'm on a kick and MAN is it tasty!

The last batch, I sent all except for one bowlful over to my neighbors because the husband dug my car out of the glacier I got stuck on. Of course, today he shoveled out my mailbox and the mogul at the end of my driveway, so I owe them more food or something else nice. (I have the best neighbors in all of southern Maryland, I swear!)

Anyway, there's really nothing that makes me happier right now than homemade chicky and dumplings.

Vrai, I'll be over Monday to shovel if we get snow. Please have cream of crab soup ready for me to take home. And some peppermint brownies. Thank you!

I don't bake (very well) but I would be happy to hook you up with some of my seafood chowder that I'll be making this weekend. :yay: (Must make a double batch so BSGal can have some)

Christy's Mom is the chicken and dumplings queen. I'd never made it before in my life, but hers was so good that I had to give it a shot.

Do you make your own Dumplins or do you use canned biscuits? We always make them from scratch but we are considering the biscuits...less mess

Bisquick, of all things. The recipe is right on the package. When I begged the recipe from Christy, that's what she said - Bisquick. And her Mom's dumplings were fab, so I didn't like to mess with success.

Save the Tatas!!!
I had never made them before and decided that I wanted them one day and I was going to make them better than Cracker Barrels. :lmao:

So I made a batch and they kicked butt. Not I get request for them all the time. It takes me about 3 hours to make from start until they are on the table. :yum:

For some reason I think you can make biscuits with it.

I have probably done that before but I don't remember. I don't bake, as I said in another thread, but I might try to make some Bisquick biscuits just to see how they turn out.

Bisquick makes awesome dumplings and cheeseburger pie. I HATE it for pancakes. :barf: I use the Aunt Jemeima (sp?) buttermilk pancake mix. I like drop dumplings and I mix up the recipe a lot. I made it once with a can of tomatoes and a bag of soup vegetables, it was pretty awesome.

If you get a chance look at the side of the box at the ingredients. Bisquick is not much more than flour and sunflower oil. I have made dumplings with just flour a table spoon or so of sugar, a little veggy oil and water when I was low on Bisquick.

So basically they want $4.00 for a small box of flour.
