Bisquick, of all things. The recipe is right on the package. When I begged the recipe from Christy, that's what she said - Bisquick. And her Mom's dumplings were fab, so I didn't like to mess with success.

My mom uses that recipe too and they are sooo good. I think I'll have to make some this weekend. I've never tried.

If I remember correctly, there was a baking mix recipe in one of those old fashioned "Hints by Heloise" types of books that my mother had eons ago.

That's all Bisquick is - a multi-purpose baking mix.
