Check your credit report, now and a little while in the future, if something shows negative from Verizon;
Send them a new letter with a copy of the old letter and a copy of the bill that shows you were credited for canceling the service and it zeroed out your bill, and a copy of your credit report. In the letter ask/demand they retract the negative credit report because it was done throught their mistake.
