Both Carnival and RCI have cruises departing from Baltimore. Carnival offers a short cruise from Norfolk as well. RCI and X sail from the NJ/NY area which is a doable drive (~4 hours).

NCL & Holland America leave from there too. Last year both of those lines ran specials where the 3rd & 4th person cruised for free

Thanks! This was helpful. Do u have a separate link for the prices? I noticed on someplaces it says like starting at, then it says a price. What does this mean? Shouldn't the cruise be one price only?

prices will vary by dates selected. Also listed prices dont include taxes & port charges so keep that in mind. Those normally run anywhere from $100 - $150 per person more per 7 day sailing...depending on the ports you choose.

The ones I saw were like $500 and up, so that doesn't include any fees?

I've been going to the caribbean for 20+ years and don't recall ever seeing anything like that, however, that could deter me from going again. Now I have seen some places in Europe like that.

Guatemala has seen it's last cruise ship as it was deemed too dangerous and too corrupt. All of Central America is going down the shi!!er...

Prices also vary depending on which cabin you choose. Usually the prices listed are for inside cabins. Price goes up if you want one with a window or balcony.

That's true. On the other hand, unless you just have money to burn, an inside cabin is just fine, because in all likelihood you will spend very little time in there.

I am surprised there were no European ports on the list. !

Me too. That list did not include many of my favorite spots - nothing in Scandinavia..nothing in the Mediterranean..nothing Adriatic..nothing Aegean..no mention of Malta of Sicily or any of the many Greek spots..

To each his own, I guess; I've probably spent too much time working in the Carribean and Central American countries to want to ever 'visit' one from a cruise ship. Working there, you see the aptly-named "seamy underbelly' and most every one of those places has one, big time. The sanitized little 'peek' you get during a cruise vist is another matter, I'm sure.

Give me the time and place and I will seriously consider it. I'm not married to the cruises I've already booked - I keep my options open....
