Talked with Dan today, he's got my bike for work. It's been up there for a couple weeks, but his main mechanic busted 3 ribs, couldn't work.

So he says things are changing. As of 1-Jan, he and his boys and his shop will be under Clinton Honda ownership. :yikes: He said my bike would be trailered up to Clinton to be worked on, not at the Mechanicsville shop. He made it sound like they were going to abandon this shop and work out of Clinton. I have to talk more with him tomorrow, curious how this is going to affect my shop labor rates and cost for he repairs under progress.

According to Facebook Dan is going to be the new service GM at Clinton's

Sucks.. I love the small mom and pop shops.. ANY day over a big dealer.

Dan and his folks are good at Honda, and specifically GoldWings. When you drive by, that's nearly all you see in the repair line... GoldWings.

SM City guys are good too, but lean towards HD and custom.

Dan was converted..

He had (has?) a certified BMW technician.. when I first met Dan, a few years back, I did a group ride that started at his old MotOvation's shop.. I was the only Beemer there.

A few weeks ago I stopped in to trace an ABS fault light.. 20 minutes later he did a full diagnostic on all the onboard systems and cleared all the faults.

This year Dan did an Alaska/ Arctic circle ride on his Beemer..

There is hope for everyone..

Yeah, he said he just sold his 'Wing.

It'll suck if they close. Kid I was a leader for in Cub Scouts works for him. Good kid. Met Dan for the first time when he bought a Christmas tree from me at the Mechanicsville Optimist tree lot.

Clinton Cycles still owned by the guy that owns HD of Washington and All American HD?

Went by there to talk with Dan. Gates are closed, big sign "For Lease".

My bike is still in the yard, alone with a bunch of others.... :ohwell:

They are packing the entire shop today. :ohwell:

Because of the restructure and move to Clinton, he wouldn't be able to work on my bike until weeks after New Years. He asked I come get it and make arrangements in Jan/Feb. :ohwell: Bike is now back in my garage.

He did say that he will arrange to have bikes picked up in SoMD and transported to Clinton if need be.

Bummer.

Doesn't Don Smolenski the same guy who owns the Hughesville and Oxon Hill Harley shops own Clinton Honda?

I did notice when I came by the other day he was closed.

GW - look up my friend Mike with Twisted Wrist Motorcycle Service. He is a great motorcycle tech and very fair on his pricing. You can find him/his page on Facebook.
