Great job to the Leonardtown VFD&RS...you guys & gals responded quickly. And thanks so much for letting me continue to hold Jebb's hand and talk to him while you were working on him!!

Jebb, I'm thinking of ya! :huggy:

My husband rides a motorcycle and I always get sick to my stomach when I hear about accidents. I am glad this one turned out better than most I've heard in the past few months. The season is almost over and I breathe a sigh of relief when there aren't any bikes on the road. Sounds harsh, but it's not the bike riders as much as the people in cars that worry me, they just don't look.

Considering this discussion is of Motorcycles and not being seen....

There was a woman in an SUV who was suppose to turn left last summer off of Cove Point Road (thats what she had signaled to do). My husband was merging right onto HG Truman and as he was coming into the road was side swiped by her when she decided to turn right from where she sat.

We had over $3,000.00 in damages to the bike, and out of good faith, he didn't file a police report. We won't do that again EVER. I'm just grateful my husband made it home in one piece and I wonder how she felt justified in saying she did nothing wrong.... Makes you wonder about people these days....

Now see, there's what worries me and my daughter. She's had her MC license for at least 3 years and has a beautiful purple sportster, but is afraid to go out unless there is a group of them. Even then, after the Freedom ride to Ft. Dix where there were hundreds of them with a police escort a bunch of them almost got run off the road by some idiots.

It has been a year since I took the course in LaPlata. Passed the written, no problem. However, I found the riding a little more intimidating. It had been more than 40 years since I had been on a MC and we were using 250 Hondas and they were heavy. I took 4 spills that day and didn't finish the ride the second day. My husband finished and got his license. After observing all the crackhead vehicle drivers driving around here I don't feel like it would be a good idea for me to get out there even tho I would be riding next to my honey on my own Harley.

your husband was very lucky that day. Glad he was ok.

as far as her thinking she did no wrong, its simple.
motorcycles have a somewhat tarnished image largely due to movies.
people have the mindset that if you ride a bike, you are criminal material anyway, so who is going to be on your side in court>

I swear, if you were riding the Popemocycle itself you would still have people out there thinking you are going to break in and rape the family pet.

I am glad your husband was ok, also.

As far as what others think.... yeah, there is that "stinkin' thinkin'". Grrrrr

Especially here, Bob took his truck to work MAYBE five times last year, the rest of the time he was on his bike.

He's such a studly guy..
