I'm due for a new cell phone and was thinking about the Motorola Razr V3C with Verizon Wireless. Anyone have any experience with this model? Recommendations?

I just switched to Verizon and got the Razr V3c. I really like it. I've had no problems, like the way it feels in the hand. It's got really decent amount of talk time and stand-by time. I'm not huge into Pic and Text messaging, but it seems to work well.

I had a hellish time getting the phone... ordered online, took 10 days to get, they shipped to the wrong address, and then it turned out the charger didn't work. But, they took care of me in terms of giving me a huge credit towards my bill which essentially got me the cost of the phone and activation fees waived.

Ratings:
The phone... great
Customer service... adequate
ordering online... a mess!

Only advice I can give is if the coverage where you live or where you use your phone is sketchy, don't get the phone. I just picked one up and it doesn't work so well in areas with low coverage.

Other then that, they are decent phones.

I know that Cingular and I am not sure if anyone else is getting rid of the razr. I am not sure the full details I heard a brief sidenote on the radio.

I have to wait until october or november before I can get a deal on a new phone.

So, do the pink ones work better than the black ones?

I just got a new phone last week. Got the Nokia 6256i. It has the best reception of any phone that verizon uses. Got 2 phones, 2 cases, 2 bluetooth headseats and 2 $30.00 Circuit City gift cards for $48.00 out the door.

Wow. Which CC did you get this deal at? Did you get two Nokias and did you already have Verizon Service or was this new customer deal?

I already had verizon service. I had had my existing phones long enought to get 1 of the phones for free. Other phone was $30.00. Cases were for a discontinued model, but fit just fine, $8.00 each. Got 2 of everything, phones, cases, headsets, gift cards. This was a promotion thru verizon and circuit city. I went to the one in Waldorf where my buddy works. He let me know about it a week before the sale went in to effect. It is over now. 1 week only. Did not have to upgrade my plan or anything like that. If you already have verizon, call and ask if you have any equipment credits on your account. They are not going to call and tell you. If you do have them, you do NOT have to change your phone plan to get the new phone. It will lock you into a new contract under your existing plan though. Not that that is a problem for me, I like the plan I have, and will never go to a different company than verizon.

I am due for an equipment upgrade credit in April. I hope they have a deal as good as the one you just got. Do you mind pming your buddies name, so I can talk to him in April about any deals? TIA

I have a stupid question, if you order online-when you get the phones are they already activated or do you have to go to the store to get that done?

I got mine from Verizon and it came programmed but you have to dial a number to activate it. It had an instruction sheet.

It depends if you already have service w/the carrier or not. I've ordered one phone online, and when I received it, it was ready to go. I just had to charge it!

Did you go with the Razr? If so, how's it holding up?

:yeahthat: Or does anyone else have any input? I'm looking to replace my phone in the next day or so. I've had bad luck with both Samsung and LG phones. My brother has a Razr, but he's only had it for a couple weeks, so he can't really give any input on longevity, although he likes it so far.

Supposedly, they have the bugs out of the latest Razr's. A friend has had a Razr for a couple of months and he's OK with it. The camera part is 1.3 mp and makes my LG VX6000 look like trash but the LG is only about 300kp. The Razr V3x is 2mp but Verizon doesn't carry that model.

What problems did you have with the Samsung? I just ordered the a990 that should be here this week sometime. I liked the LG except for the camera.

Signal strength. Dustin has a Motorola, and I have a Samsung. We live in the same house, but I always have a weaker signal. Additionally, in the past few months, my phone will be stuck in Analog, and I'll have to power it down, then back up, three or four times before it will be Digital. All the while, Dustin's phone is fine. And yes, I've done the *228 deal. :yay:

It must be more phone design related instead of brand. My old Motorola had horrible reception compared to my LG.
