Mouse Scroll Touchpad Thingy

My laptop mouse touchpad thing has a scroll strip on the right side that used to work before my freshly-exed boyfriend "fixed" my laptop a few weeks back. Now, it's not scrolling when I mouse click in the scroll part of the window and slide my finger on the touchpad strip. I glanced through the control panel/mouse options and nothing is jumping out at me.

Any ideas? :shrug:

Gestures > Use scroll function in the Synaptics driver program...

You might need to download new Drivers for it. Sometimes if they ahve been erased or things changed they can be lost. Good luck

Is he "freshly exed" because he broked your laptop or some other unforgivable error in judgement? :popcorn:

Okay ... back to bidness ... I updated the driver ... still no dice. It used to be that the forum page would scroll up and down when I'd slide my finger over the strip ... it's still not working! :tantrum:

Yes, it moves the mouse icon/arrow/text icon up and down. But it used to allow me to click on a page, and scroll the page up and down as well (e.g. browse), and now the page doesn't move; just the icon.

On my HP at home I remember long ago that I had to adjust some setting because I only wanted to be able to move the cursor not click or slide with it.. It was kooky .. had to do a weird thing to adjust it .. As I remember it was like press and hold f6 key for like 12 seconds then a screen came up to adjust it.
