Right or wrong, the guy at the top is who always gets the blame. That's why they get paid more.

How is Bush at "The Top" on this one? Disaster relief is the responsibility of the state and local government, not the federal government.

BTW, I wonder who paid all the bucks to fly those people up to DC and put them up in hotels, and how much that all cost. Wouldn't that money had been better spent helping with the relief/recover effort?

I saw today that Moveon.org is going to run an advertisement about Bush's handling of the Katrina disaster. Seems WAY too early to be running political ads about this sort of thing.

Wonder if they will include the truth in the ads?? Like how the Gov. and Mayor are responsible before the Feds. Why the busses are sitting underwater. Why she told FEMA not to come down when they wanted to. I sure hope they include all this and more......

Why worry about the truth? They'll say Bush screwed up, a Democrat would have handled it a lot better and faster saving thus all the lives and never once tell you how they would have done it.

Did you catch O'Reilly last night? He ripped a black woman reporter apart whose only agenda was to bash Bush over the race issue. He even had a black reporter on the other side defending Bush.

O'Reilly insisted she give examples how Bush was at fault & how it was a racial deal. She had the most frustrated expressions when she couldn't provide answers.

It was great.

We are far away from the truth in any of this and some fact misrepresentation is even present in your little post here. FEMA was told not to come in until after the hurricane force winds stopped. It wasn't like they told them to wait for days after the hurricane hit to come in.

Instead of saying one is more responsible than the other...how about equally responsible?

No. Why should Bush take responsibility for something that wasn't his job or even his territory? Something that, had he taken over, would have been an impeachable offense?

I'm sick and tired of taking half the blame for something that's totally the Democrats' fault. Take your own blame.

I am giddy with glee at the Democrats melt down. Pillosi and Ried are going totally bonkers and showing what bullshit artists they really are. This will be remembered in the next election.

The more I read up on it the more I see that this is a state/local issue and not in Bush's hands. Bush really has to do nothing at all but it looks good for him to do something. People should be lucky they're getting any federal aid.

How was FEMA not there the as the hurricane blew through? Where were they?
