I mean, if they can put two tire stores within 50 feet, they can build a theater. I mean, rednceks like myself can't possibly need that many tires.

Sure they do, from using the pothole-filled back road into the current theatre. It is one big conspiracy I tell ya!

Anyone else have had any bad dealings with Loew's theatre in Lexington Park? I've had a problem twice this year out of 3 or 4 movies I've seen there. Fisrt I saw "The Chronicles of Riddick." We lost the picture near the end for a couple of minutes. Then when we went to see "The Grudge." They projected the picture bigger than the screen. The movie is set in Tokyo so a lot of the dialogue is in Japanese. Since the picture was bigger than the screen the subtitles were not visible. I then e-mailed Loews the night I saw the Grudge. 2 Weeks and no reply, so I e-mailed them again and after another 2 to 4 weeks I haven't recieved a reply. So I give them a :boo:

How about something like our newest little playground?

The director's hall is pretty sweet, though a little pricey.

$7.25 for a bargin movie for a child/adult or senior and a later show is $10.25 for an adult and $7.25 for a senior or child. That doesn't make sense.

The biggest "MUST HAVE" for me is drink holders on the back of the seats for the kids or I'll end up holding everything. :ohwell:

What? You're asking for an amenity in St. Mary's?

Our county commish gave away an entertainment complex in First Colonly in order to get our first "public" pool. Instead of a new cinema we got: Tires Plus, BJ's w/gas station, and Mr. Tire. Just what we needed; 3 tire stores within earshot of each other. First Colony said demographics didn't support an entertainment complex! Yeah right. Just like our demographics wouldn't support a bowling center, one that operates in a normal bowling alley/center sense.

You must be new to the area. In order to get something for everyone, you'll learn that the skids have to be greased.

The plan was for one of the stadium-style theaters. I've been to the one in White Marsh outside of Baltimore. They're nice, but not all that.

Why did they back out? Partly demographics, if I remember correctly. Also, I read that the theater industry realized that stadium-style theaters weren't making any more money than traditional theaters. Everyone was convinced for a while that these were cash cows.

Yes! The theaters are closets and the place is never clean. To say nothing of the war zone that is the pavement on FDR Boulevard.

It's also a CRAP part of town w/ a bunch of heathens hanging out there. It's not safe!!!

:yeahthat: It's not the best part of town to house a movie theater. Also, I hate that there's very few movies that play there -- I've had to drive to Waldorf to see some movies, and I'd rather stay in town. I def. think a new theater (to replace Loews) would do really well here. Oh yeah, and we need a better bookstore (Bay Books doesn't have the best selection) -- we need a Borders or something similar. One last thing...we need a real ice cream place, not that little section in the donut connection that sells ice cream, but a dairy queen or haagen daz. Okay, I'm done. :yay:

I think we also need a zoo, moving sidewalks, gladiator arena, and Segway Human Transporters. :lmao:
