anyone else go there and then leave with more problems with their vehicle than when they first showed up???

Not exactly that situation just pushy sales people that won't take no for an answer in pushing warranty coverage for tires and then charging for them anyway.

Never deal with again.

Had a friend that bought a new car back in May or 2006. She went to get the oil changed at a Merchants Tire location where she lives and they brought out 2 vials of what they said was power steering fluid with one being clean and the other dirty. They told her the fluid in the dirty one came from her power steering pump and that it needed to be flushed.

She called me about it and I told her to get her oil changed, ask for the vial of fluid so she could show her husband (LOL), and she would get back to them. As you can well guess, they didn't give her the fluid.

All places try this shyt as long as they think they can get away with it.

oh yeahhhhh...I just loved when they went to test drive my car and ran it through the mud and left it in the back unlocked on a Friday evening. Thanks Mr. Tire...btw the car will never be right because of you!

Not sure which Mr. Tire you are referring to, but we go to (actually, used to go to now) the one in Dunkirk. I took my minivan in to have its tires rotated and oil changed before we left on vacation. They said one of the posts on the wheel was broken off, but they could fix it that day. Well, about 8 hours later, after several times of them saying oh, it they're putting it back together now... oops, they broke off another one... oh, wait the dealer brought us the wrong part, we finally got our van back. They said they would only charge us for the repair of the initial one (oh, gee, thanks... after all that, whose to say you weren't responsible for breaking the initial one, too???), but we would have to bring it back after our vacation to have the repair completed. Oh, but they would make sure they had the right bolt by then. Gee thanks, and oh by the way, my wheel's gonna stay on as we drive away on vacation, right? He asked me how far we were going and when I said, "South Carolina" he said we would be fine. That just gave me a warm and fuzzy. Because if we were going a little farther on to Florida, we would've been screwed, I'm sure. Needless to say, we will not be returning there for service.

It's actually a bit of a shame. They used to be really good. They were quick and really up front about the work that needed to be done vs. not needing to be done. They have really gone downhill recently. I have heard, but do not know if it is true, that they have new management in there. BTW, my oil change and "free" tire rotation ended up costing me just under 200 bucks because of all that!!! :burning:

I went there to get an oil change and they came back out with a list of things that they said was wrong...I'm like I just wanted my oil changed you shouldn't even have looked at anything else...to top it off when I got my truck back and started driving I noticed my gas was lower...I noticed because I had just filled up before I went there...I complained but it was like beating that dead horse with those people...I just got to the dealer now

Make note of your mileage before taking it (or set the trip odometer) and then make question of any excessive milage they put on (anything over a "test drive" depending on the work done) :yay:

One reason i do all repairs or maintanence myself, without a garage on a gravel driveway. If its something i cant handle i take it to prolink, i cant do my tires myself obviously.

I have had tires plus try an say i needed stuff done, said i needed new ball joints, new belt, new fan clutch and a water pump. I replaced the ball joints the week before this happened, belt was 3 months old which i replaced with the water pump. Guy could not give me an explanation why they needed to be replaced, he looked like a real idiot when he said my fan clutch was bad, considering i didnt have one made it pretty funny.

Never had a problem with mr. tire in leonardtown, the one in great mills however is a different story.

So the work had to be done? 200 for parts? I think and I could be wrong but with most places not just Mr. Tire parts are marked up as high as three times and of course labor.
