I guess I didn't either. Is this for real? I always assumed from the commercials that she was British.

I was searching Aunt Jemima commercials to see how the picture had changed over the years. What I found from 1955 annoyed me. See if you know why.

I have never looked at these brands that they were servants. I always thought they were chefs, if I even thought about it at all.
When I was a kid, I saw Aunt Jemima as a grandma type.

That's because people like us never had black servants. Or servants at all. Only the truly privileged would look at a black person and think "servant".
