A lot of people are allergic to it. I am and it instantly gives me a migraine.

Why do you ask?

I have no sensitivity to MSG. If you would like me to bear (or bare) your genetically superior children, please PM me for an application. Artificial only, TIA.

It was funny I was watching a documentary on rural China. The man they were filming went to a house to be cooked a homemade traditional meal. The man's face was priceless when the old couple making the meal got a very large tub of the shelf labeled MSG to use..:killingme

I personally try to avoid it. It can stimulate appetite too.....

From Wiki:

MSG is used commercially as a flavour enhancer. Although once stereotypically associated with foods in Chinese restaurants, it is now found in many common food items, particularly processed foods. [4] Examples include:

Canned soups.
Pre-prepared stocks often known as stock cubes.
Condiments such as barbecue sauce.
Frozen dinners.
Frozen seafood.
Common snack foods such as flavored potato chips and flavored tortilla chips.
Most fast food.
Instant meals such as the seasoning mixtures for instant noodles.
The popular Hispanic food additive Sazón.
Another popular food additive Vegeta.

It's a natural product usually produced through fermentation, a process similar to that used in making beer, vinegar and yogurt. The process usually begins with the fermentation of corn, sugar beets or sugar cane.
