As long as the sign has been there you would think that they would take anyone to haul it away, besides I'll ride with anyone that wants any and show my driver's license to show that it is a St. Mary's resident getting the mulch.FancyBelle said:Ken,that's for St Marys residents only. Charles County landfills have the same thing. Try Goad Lumber, they have mulch and their Mexicans work landscaping on wkends so they might deliver for ya. 301-247-3447.
No, I don't need any.FancyBelle said:Will you go get me some and bring it to the house?

Only problem I have had is the trash mixed in. Never a whole lot of it, less than a grocery bag worth of trash in a 4x8 trailer load (trailer holds roughly 100 cubic feet of mulch). More of a pain to pick it up out of the mulch as I am spreading the mulch than anything else. But I will deal with a little trash to save a couple hundred $$ (yes, I go thru that much mulch every year). I usually put down 3 or 4 trailer loads a year.SamSpade said:Has anyone had bad experiences with those free mulch giveaways? I am just wondering, since most of it comes from the county grinding up the crap from the side of the road and such - and I've heard stories from other places I've lived saying, you can also get fungus and poison ivy and pests and all kinds of stuff you don't want in your yard.
I've never had problems with buying mulch from places selling it - but I am skeptical about free stuff, because usually in life, you get what you pay for. Anyone had a bad experience? Good experience?
I got some once and it was full of trash and grew a huge patch of shrooms. Never again. I'll pay for it next time.SamSpade said:Has anyone had bad experiences with those free mulch giveaways? That's what i was going to bring up, my house inspector, said that it is possible to get termites with the general type of mulch like that, if your not concern go ahead, if you are, he said best go to a large store(Lowes) and pay for it.SamSpade said:Has anyone had bad experiences with those free mulch giveaways? We ordered some mulch called "Path n Play" made specifically for paths and playgrounds (hence the name) and it was only $2.99 a bag delivered, $2.79 if you pick up.
I don't use it around the house, I use it up in the backyard around trees and whatnot.Papi4baby said:That's what i was going to bring up, my house inspector, said that it is possible to get termites with the general type of mulch like that, if your not concern go ahead, if you are, he said best go to a large store(Lowes) and pay for it.
