We were running on the generator from about 6 this morning. SMECO map stated restoration 11:42 they were off by 5 minutes.....I don't know how they predict restoration times.

Yes, but's thats after updating their estimate at least twice.

Appears power here was out for about an hour.

Just heard and felt (the house moved) a very low rumble and thud, lights flickered. I guess my neighbors heard it too, at least two of them were peering out the windows like I was. I assume a very big tree fell nearby.

Finally found the source of the thump. A huge branch broke off my maple tree, wasn't able to see it until I drove past it, 1st time out in over a week. Pretty rotten in the center. It's a huge old tree, had more than it's share of cars plowing into it. Might be near the end of it's days.
