Murder?

No. When did he fall in? How did the firefighters not see it when they were there for the fire?
I'm thinking the scenario went something like they put out the fire, then the family notified the department that this person was missing and walked the property and found him. Maybe the fire department was busy looking for a body within the flames. Was the house that burned his house. The article stated the man was from Callaway but the house is near Winters I think. Isn't that considered Leonardtown? But on the other hand, if it wasn't the victims house, why was the family walking the property?

I hope none of the family is reading, while I speculate. It was have been pretty horrible to miss a family member after a fire, then witness their body in a well.

According to property records, he is listed as the owner of the home.

Yeah, I re-read the article, I was wrong. Thank you.
No worries. The area is actually Red Gate, but there isn't post office. The mailing address is Leonardtown, but it is Leonardtown due to the size and capacity of the Ltown post office. I used to live in a house by Winters - north of Winters - so I do know that area.

Weird story. It's possible that I've watched one too many episodes of Snapped, but body in a well. What kind of wells do we have around here that you just fall in to or maybe accidentally relocate your body in, like maybe while you're cleaning it or something? I smell a rat. House was on fire, person is missing, body located in well equals foul play in my book.
Shallow wells are wide enough for a body and about 20-25 feet deep those are wells of the past.
