MVA W/ Wires down. Unkown Injuries/Golden Beach

Stop Staring!!!!!
Hey Jeff. I am sure you are a really nice fella & all but honestly between you posting every accident known to mankind & Nhboy and all his really strange news stories and whoever posted that awefull thing about a baby who had his nads eatin by a dog, I must admit most times I am so depressed, discouraged, disgusted from reading the thread title my stomach churns. I am not trying to offend, but really man I am a scanner nut myself but I can turn it on or tune it in. I don't need every detail here in print too. JMO. :smoochy:

BTW, I hope all people involved will be okay.

Tigerlily,

I did not have time when I got home from work this morning to respond to your post with the detail I felt it deserved.

If you really watch my posts I think you'll realize that I don't post about "every accident known to mankind". For accidents, I try to only post about major accidents where injuries are involved and I suspect road closures or power outages may cause traffic snarls for our fellow forumites. Heck, I could not post about every accident I hear on the scanner. I am a hunt & peck typist. :lmao:

I do post peridiocally about a major fire event if I think it's something that is going to be visible by alot of folks and some may be curious. Or if roads are going to be closed.

For the police stuff I am pretty hesitant on posting anything at all unless it is a lost child or some nut suspected of running around with a gun in a specific area. Our officers have a hard enough time doing what they do without having to worry about whether or not some scanner enthusiast is going to quote them. Possibly even hindering an investigation.

But, I think if you will look you might actually see that "I" may average one post a day related to what is going on. Allot of folks don't want the constant stream of noise being generated by a scanner. And as our local radio stations do such a poor job of putting local issues out in a timely fashion, I like to think that my little posts might help a few folks avoid getting tied up in traffic. One person may be home, see my post, and a call a loved one and tell them to "take the long way home" or "take your time cause the road is closed." Or maybe the Bridge is closed down due to an accident and someone is getting off work trying to go home. Heck If I have my choice between sitting in traffic or using that time to my advantage and maybe getting some shopping done or stopping for dinner. I think I would like to have the option of making that choice.

I do respect your opinion here, and I have the feeling you are not the only one on the forum that feels this way. But, judging from the very polite and thankful PMs, Karma and public comments I get I get the feeling that, at least of the folks willing to express their opinion, that what I do seems to be appreciated by the majority.

BTW, Thank you all for the kind thoughts. :buddies:

:lmao: It's all good :huggy: And I agree there is plenty of bad stuff out there. I just like to be aware of it and it seems others do as well.

Isn't that nice Tigerlily/Jeff getting along:smoochy:

Keep up the good work Jeff, my scanner is on all the time too in the car or at home and I pretty much have Charles, St.Marys and PG covered, Calvert hit and miss. Ive got my portable on the night stand thats on and charging allnight, its turned down quite low, but if you have listen to a scanner all your life and Im a OHG, even on low if something happens it kind of stands out from the normal everyday stuff you hear and your ears perk up.:lmao:
Also have a pager that I own thats programmed for the fire dept Im with which picks up Charles and also can pickup St. Marys, can only hear the dispatch and once the unit marks up on the air and goes to a tac channel unless the scanner is nearby Im out in the cold as to what is happening. I sometimes have the tendency to turn the pager off and the other night when the accident on Golden Beach Rd. happened that is exactly what happened I was enjoying TV, chillin out in the recliner and heard all these sirens,(I live just off 5 near Oaks Rd/Golden Beach Rd. I reached down to turn the pager up and realized I had turned it off, turned it on quickly and was able to hear the fire engine from the Golden Beach station markup on the air and fireboard tell them the location on Golden Beach Rd. with wires down but missed the cross street, I didnot hear any more dispatching for like a LZ, so I figured it was proably minor accident, but one that really disrupted alot of people with the road being closed, and the power going out, have son that lives in the Beach his power was off from 1am till 5am really bad time for that to happen after you go to sleep only to wake the next morning already late for work). You close a road going into Golden Beach after the 'T' and before Crosswoods at the top of the hill the people down in the beach are not going to get home for awhile.
Was nice to read your post yesterday morning to find out what did happen.

Keep up the good work, :yay: your post are so much better then some guy called Dan :buttkick: who was on here last year.

Other than the power on/power off thing, does anyone know what the outcome of the accident were? Any injuries? Just wondering. TIA

I got busy so could not stay on it. But when the call went out it did not appear to be an accident. Sounded ike the wires just fell or pole keeled over.

Dang Jeff, looks like your wired, looks like you have your 1550,1330 and your 1490. :killingme:lmao:
If this is in your home, it looks like a communication center, if St Marys Comm. Center ever lost power they could come to your place and carry on there duties. lol

LOL, yeah, it's quite the setup. I have everything up high simply because all of the scanners are running under the control of the computers except for one old Handheld. Your welcome to drop by and have a look see it this junk if you ever make it down this way.

It's kinda cool if your into this junk.

Also I feed the audio from a few of them into a private server. I might be able to fill in a few of the holes in Calvert for ya. If you, or anyone ese for that matter, is interested just join my personal forum "St. Mary's Onlline Scanner". Once in, the instructions to gain access to the server are there.

Also, if you tend to keep a scanner on most of the time anyway, Maybe you might be willing to feed the audio from your scanner into my server to share with others as well. I can't get Charles very well and it sounds like your have them pretty well covered. Once we got you into the server I can set you up your own dedicated channel in about ten seconds to feed into and will make you Channel Admin of your channel. All it will take on your part is a 1/8 Mono Male - 1/8" Mono Male Patch cord from Radio Shack which can be obtained for about 5 bucks. From then on you can even choose to make subchannels and add more of your own feeds if you wish. Even if you don't want to leave your PC and scanner up 24/7 as I do any help you could provide in filling in the holes for Charles would be most appreciated.

Also while you are in the server you can text chat with any other listeners that are in the server live without having to refresh the page like you do in the forums. Kinda cool.
