My cats are angry with me...

I brought home a rescue today, 3 month old male orange tabby. My daughter named him Rolfe. He is pure entertainment. Fully box trained, uses a scratching post. Already neutered and micro-chipped. He's adorable, I sure hope my other 3 get used to him, right now they are giving him the cold shoulder. He loves the dog though and she seems to like him.

I'm doing the math and have paperwork saying he was born on April 14 or close to it, but he's already been neutered, did they do it too soon? With my other cat, they told me I had to wait til he was 16 weeks.

He's got me cracking up, he loves the cat door, he keeps going in and out of it and I can see him run by, one of my cats is watching him and has this look like "oh, please".

A tiny orange kitten ended up in the bush next to my oil tank last summer. Mom came over and took him home. He is perfect for her.

I can tell you from personal experience this is absolutely false. I was always told to wait until they were 6 months old to have them spayed/neutered. My kitty Trixie, who will turn 12 this year, wound up giving birth when she was less than 6 months old. The vet said she had gotten pregnant around 3.5 months old.

And congratulations on your new family member. I'm sure the other kitties will come around shortly and you'll have a nice pack.

Here he is, hard to get a good pic, he doesn't stay still for more than a second. What you don't see is his tail, which to me is extremely long for a kitten, I guess he'll grow into it.

I love our marmalades. We have 2. Nacho should have been named Catanova. He's such a lover. The other one, while not as lovable, does have his moments, but he's not crazy about the guy in the house. He's definitely an all girl kinda kitty, when he's feeling it.

Congrats on the new family member.

That's funny, the people where I got him from called him Cheesestick, but the name on his paperwork was Higgins, so my daughter said his name is Rolfe Higgins. It's her cat, when she moves out, he goes with her.

No, based on her age when we took her to the vet after giving birth, Dr. Veitch said she was about 3.5 months old when she was impregnated. I'm just sad I didn't know she was pregnant. She was laying on my chest the night before and kept spasming, which I assumed was an upset tummy - never even entertaining the thought she was in labor. And even sadder the one (huge) kitten she gave birth to was stillborn or died shortly after birth. :ohwell:

I have a few cats that sit in my backyard waiting for birds. Once in a while they get into my garage.

I hiss at them and run at them and they run away.

Friday was under a year old and pregnant when I took her in (according to the Vet) and she had 5 kittens, not 2 like he predicted. You know the rest of the story.

When I was helping out at the Well Pet Clinic in P.F., I was told that the female can be spayed at 8 weeks, and has to be at least 2 pounds. The males have to be 8 weeks, and both testicles have to have dropped before neutering. They too, have to be two pounds.

I can't even imagine this little guy weighing two pounds, he's smaller than my dogs head. The sweetest little guy ever though, my daughter has started calling him Harley, you can hear his purr in the next room and sounds like a Harley.

We found this little girl lastnight on the side of the road all by her lonesome! Luckily she trusted us enough to let us take her in. Our other cats are NOT happy.

Good luck with that!!! Our daughter's cat is still with us (cat will be 16 in the spring). When the daughter moved back home after a broken relationship (a couple of years ago), she brought her puppy with her. Daughter has sinced moved out again, and the grandpup (now 3) is still with us. :ohwell:

I got a better picture of him, he's really filling out, doesn't look so starved like he did when we got him. The cats are finally starting to tolerate him, one actually even likes him, they are playing in the pic, but they look like they are about to fight, they weren't.
