My chair smells like...

...dog!!! They're indoor dogs, so it's not some horrific smell, but it most definitely needs to be dealt with. I have a steam cleaner and a Bissel Little Green. I'm going to clean the furniture w/the Little Green unless someone has a better idea or product.

Forget it! Temporary fix. Mily has her own chair. I cleaned it a couple times but eventually gave up. Next time you get furniture, get leather. The new furniture made it back into the Florida Room last week because the kids and dog were killing it.

Teach dogs and Kids to stay off of it

I inserted packets of Arm & Hammer in the cushions that I could zip open. I also Febreeze all the furniture once a week.

Of course just one incident of the kids walking the dog in the rain and not drying her off enough counteracts all my attempts.

I'd like to get some different furniture for our family room and would like leather but have read that it doesn't hold up well with dogs. I keep their nails trimmed, but maybe that's not enough.

And I like my dogs sitting with me in the evenings so staying off the furniture isn't an option.

My neighbor has a rottweiler and a doberman that think the furniture is theirs. It's leather. She swears by it, saying it can take the abuse better than any fabric upholstery she's owned.

:yeahthat: There is a reason little kids run screaming when the crazy old cat lady comes walking down the sidewalk... they can smell her coming.

:lmao:

Our neighbors cat likes to get under our shed during the night and apparently spray/pee pee everywhere because that's all I can smell in the morning when I'm getting in my car. :tantrum I hate cats!

My furniture isn't some top of the line superb furniture or anything. Just regular furniture. I don't want to get anything new for a few more years, and I like to have my pups on the furniture with me, so making them stay off won't work for us. Maybe I'll try that Febreeze. I'm sure that leather is probably better for thing sort of issue, but I don't care for the feel of leather furniture. It's just not cozy like I want it to be. We have a nice leather sofa set that my husband had when he was a bachelor, but we keep that in the den/upstairs as 'extra'. I don't think I'd ever buy leather, though.

Crap, I'm slacking. I have the younger 2 babes at home today with high fevers. They've been sick for a week and it's just hanging on. I was waiting to see what time their appt. was, but it's at 1:30pm so I think I'm out today. You'd better still hit it hard, though!! :wench:
