My kind of Sunday

This will make chuckt's and others head explode. I communed today with my Creator, at a Gathering of First Peoples. I was smudged with the smoke of the sweetgrass and sage. We danced under a glorious fall sky and celebrated the day our Creator provided for us. I had fellowship with my brothers and sisters of all races, backgrounds and beliefs. We provided helpful service for those less fortunate than us and ask the Creator to bless all of us with respect and love for our Earth and each other.

Sorry, we don't have a book of stories to argue over, but each of the Nations have their stories and tales of the Creation story and we listen respectfully to all of them and celebate them all with their dances and songs.

No, we don't have scholars and college educated people that have memorized scriptures and have astounding Google work to tell all of you how wrong you all are.

We just dance, sing, eat fry bread and celebrate what the Creator has given us.

It is basically paganism.

Is there a point? Do you think this is the first time I've been called a pagan? Do you know what you are referring to? Paganism is a term that developed among the Christian community of southern Europe during late antiquity to describe religions other than their own, Judaism, or Islam, the three Abrahamic religions. Throughout Christendom it continued to be used, typically in a derogatory sense.

You do realize that many of your "Christian" practices were adopted to appeal to "pagans" and convert them to the highly supervised and regulated churches? You know why Easter, Christmas and every other date on the church calendar is when it is, right?

chuckt, I'd assume you'd be more informed than this.

Please don't hate on my practices, I won't hate on yours.

I don't think he has you on ignore. I think he doesn't know how to respond to you. I have always enjoyed your posts. You have enlightened us on the history of the Red Road in your time here. There are so many 'new' Americans that have Native American blood in their veins. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
