But wait, there's more...
a tween ... and she's only 10! :bawl:

She's up in her room rockin' it out on her CD player right now to some CDs Rick gave her from "back in his days" ... Journey, Whitesnake, etc.

Oh well ... at least it's not boom-chickie-wow-wow sex rap.

I wouldn't count on that, I was 9 and so was my cousin and my daughter had just turned 10 when she got hers. Have you had "The Talk" yet?

Same here ... and she's got a 'lil junk in the trunk, AND a boyfriend at school who bought her a skull necklace and the Chronicles of Narnia series. :faint:

Mine as well. She has a strong dancers physique after 7 years of ballet/jazz dance classes. As for boys, she has no time for them right now. :drama:

Oh yea, and her dad bought her the "book" when she was four (don't ask! :nono:) ... she's well educated about the changes she's about the face. :coffee:

My "little" girl is turning into a mini-goth/baby-emo, whatever you want to call it. 12 years old and wants to wear only black and listen to Linkin Park and Slipknot. Skull jewelry. Her dad would roll over in his grave. But at least I know she still thinks sex is gross, so I'm safe for a while.

You and I are in the same unpleasant boat. I love rock music, but have spent hours talking to my daughter about the ugly side of it. Including Goth / Emo.

She hates it when I talk sex to her....so I make sure to do it often. It grosses her out, but I'd rather have her complaining about her mother than pregnant at 15. I was a hair band freak when I was her age, but my mother put the fear of God, her and unwanted pregnancies in my head. Figured if it worked for me, it'll work for her.

Oh, and WTF is with SoMD? Has everyone skipped the "birth control is a good thing" gene? She came home the other day and a friend of a friend is pregnant. 20, no job, no education, no boyfriend. And people think nothing of it? I grew up in the middle of bofo nowhere New England. Only things to do to entertain ourselves was cow tip and lots of sex. But we took precautions.

When daycare is offered on site to the high school students, what else do you expect?

When I heard about that, I swore that my daughter would NOT attend high school there. I loved the area, and the people, but that's where I draw the line! :nono:

I know, mine says "EWWW!!" and runs away when I tell her what boys her age think. I also tell her about protection, and the consequences of not using it.

Yeah, my girls started private schools, the middle years right now are public, but we're going back to private soon. I fell off my chair when I heard about daycare at the high school. :otter::smack::smack:

Back in my high school days, we didn't have day care centers, but we did have smoking areas.
