My old doggie is missing

Elder son let her out Wednesday night at ~ 11pm, but she never came back. We've looked all over the area since then (fields, woods, roadways), but no sign of her. She's so old, 15+, half blind, going deaf and very arthritic. I'm afraid she has died out there somewhere, alone and lost. I'm even more worried that she's hurt or addled and suffering.

We live 1 mile south of St Mary's College. If you have seen a black medium sized dog (border collie mix) anywhere around that area and south to St Inagoes or along Mattapany Rd, please PM me. She has a purple collar with her tag on.

Call Tri-County Animal Shelter . And call your local vets office and let them know and ask about it . They will post stuff up for you !

I did call Tri County and the SMC animal control. Didn't think about the vet though, thanks.

On the drive home yesterday from St Inigoes, I had to stop (literally) because a black dog with a collar was wandering in and out of traffic.... It was just south of the middle school on 235.

I'm all scratched up from crawling throught the woods and brambles. We've driven and walked everywhere around here and talked to a lot of people, but no one's seen her. We've checked barns, fields, ditches - you name it. I even drove over to the re-enactment area in St MAry's and talked to those folks.

I just can't believe she disappeared like this.

Did you ever find her? OMG I'd be a mess if my dog was running loose like that. Don't you have a fenced area for your dog? Or did your dog jump it?

She could barely walk, let alone hop a fence. We used to have a fence but she stopped going out of our yard and back field a while back. There's no way she could make it across any road with traffic around where we are, she could barely move.

No one expected her to disappear like this. That's why I think she left to die.

Have you been checking with all the area vets? I just wonder if maybe someone saw her, saw how sick she is, and took her to a vet. That's what I would've done if I couldn't locate the owner. Hope you find her soon and that she's ok.

Wow - just goes to show you never can be sure what they will do. I hope she didn't go off to die - that would be awful for her to die alone.

I just read Hunter's good bye to his cat. I wish I could do the same with Patches. I feel terrible about this.

nothing that shows her age, she's very camera shy and most of our pics show a black blob. But she's built and furred like a classic border collie. She's almost all black except that her chest - its white. Her face is very muzzled with white because she's 15+.

I'm on the wrong computer, but I'll see if I can get her picture transfered tomorrow.

I have a few customers and friends that live down in that area along with Students and Professors at the college. I will post on my Canter-Lope facebook to help,
