BTW, I'm in the market for a new chain saw.

Any recommendations? I'm thinking a Husqvarna
I trust you do not have intention of taking down trees with said chain saw... without proof of proper certification... I may have to report this post. :tap:

Husqvarna or Stihl. Bought my Stihl about 10 or 12 years ago after going through 3 other brand name saws. I did alot of cutting back then. Anyway, I got my Stihl and haven't needed another saw since. Get at least an 18" or 20 " bar on it. Now mine just sits in the barn collecting dust. Use it probably once a year to trim trees.
:lmao: Someone mentions Poulan or Homelite. :boo:

Wanna come use it on the Pecan tree that hangs over my roof? I thought I was getting bombed a couple nights ago. Cathedral ceilings + skylights + overhanging pecan limbs = no sleep on rainy nights. :dead:

Sorry Pixie honey, I'm not bonded or insured. I only cut for myself and not much of that anymore since I converted from a wood burning stove to a pellet stove.

The difference between you and Vince is I'm not scared to let Vince know where I live.
Just because you are taller than Vince is not a very good reason.

I went through three Homelites. Made a forth out of parts from the other three. I got to where I could tear them down in my sleep. 30 min down to the pistons. Replace pistons, rings, build up and start it. Got tired of fixing them. Bought my Stihl. Never had to fix it with the exception of a broken pull rope.

They call me ... Sarcasmo
I have a stihl and I think it is the best out there. I have seen them dropped from over 50 and not stop running. Milt's on Friendship School Rd is the place to go. You'll get what you need and you have a local shop for service and parts.

The part I don't get about DNR's response is how dangerous the job is. I have been on jobs with Jimmy and sure it does get hairy sometimes, but what does having a degree have to do with how well you do this job? It's not the fall that gets you, it's the sudden stop at the end.

Thank you, come again.
Hmmm I think that some parts of the new law are a bit excessive, however there was a tree company ( ) that was doing work in my nieghbors yard and they dropped one of the trees they were cutting down on my house! I came home and their was tree debris everywhere (they did'nt even clean up the debris they dropped in my yard) and oh yeah not to mention a tree on my house. Anyways so I called this company, being very polite might I add, and the guy gave me the why are you calling me attitude. Whats up with that, you drop a tree on my house I call you to find out what is the next step to getting it fixed and you give me attitude. :burning:

Family and friends helped get the debris out, when I asked the tree man about removing the debris his exact words were "what debris". Yeah you know when you cut trees down you never ever have pieces of tree and branchs go all over the place :sarcasm: . A family friend removed the tree, I had to hire someone to fix the damages to the house, then finally after massive agravation he paid what I had to pay the contractor to fix it. Shoulda sued the bastard, but I'm too nice of a person.
