Ha! Once you get a thorough feel for the extremely
high cost of living. You'd only visit this area, you wouldn't want to move back here! It's too damn expensive!

Personally, I'm renting from a friend here in Suitland.
I plan to purchase some real estate (either some acreage or a townhouse or condo) in Charles county in a few years to offset my state and federal income taxes.

Warren,
From having grown up in the area, and having lived in Northern Virginia the last 20 years (until I moved to Florida last Summer), I KNOW about the high cost of living there. Between here in Florida and the DC area, really the only thing that is more expensive is the real estate. All I meant by my previous post was a hope that Marlow Heights would regentrify, and I could move back there. Pipe dream, I know, and as they say, you can't go home again. But I can hope. Anyway, we're going to wait until our oldest finishes elementary school in three years and then decide whether to stay or move back. My mother moved here a few months after me from Delware (Rehobeth Beach), and even though she's finally settled here (less than a mile from me), she's already talking about moving back to Delaware.

We'll see what happens to us in three years.
