A wife/girlfriend should never go through her husband/boyfriends drawers (not the kind you keeep your clothes in anyway lol) nor should he go through hers. Same for purses & wallets unless they have permission.
A marriage is a union of two people. My husband should have every right to go into a drawer, cabinet, box, etc. that lives in OUR household. People who don't try to hide things don't think like you.

The man and I have seperate accounts. We have one joint account for the mortgage, utitilties, and vehicle insurance which we split the cost down the middle. I pay half, he pays half, and that's how much we put in our joint account. Otherwise, he pays his own vehicle payment and I pay mine. We both have our own checking and savings account and we don't care how much the other has as long as we put our share in the joint account for bills. It works great for us.

yup me and the man have seperate, we only have 2 accounts and we just divided up the bills according to who could handle what, it has to work that way because we are different, he likes to save save save and I like to spend, less fights if we don't share accounts.

I give my paycheck to Larry and he deposits it and pays the bills. When I want cash, I go to the ATM and if I buy something I use a credit card. We haven't fought about money in the 8 years we've been married.

Purses, wallets, drawers, etc. are community property and we rifle at will. Even the kids are allowed to go in my purse without asking and grab cash if they need it for lunch money or whatever - they just have to leave me a note or let me know if they clean me out so I don't end up at the register with my morning soda and no buckage. So far none of them have ever abused this privilege.

I'm in for the road trip! As for complaining about having to hide money and this and that.... should've stayed single, marriage is the devils work! Anything bad that happens just remember... it's the screwing you get, for the screwing you got!

What's your method? Ours works like this: C_Jo pays for everything and sometimes I buy him a new shirt when I'm out shopping.

Sounds like my ex-wife, except without the shirts... :ohwell:

you know, up until this post I really had no interest in doing a road trip to WV, However, after thinking about the entertainment factor in what you describe, Im not sure I could pass that up,,, or drive home laughing as hard as I would be.
