Barefoot Landing and Broadway on the Beach are both nice places to go to because they have a variety of different shops and restaurants. If you like shows where there is a variety of different type of music The Carolina Opry is really good. If you have young kids there is the Grand Strand (central section of Myrtle Beach) which has rides, etc.
For the young kids, Dixie Stampade would be the place.
As mentioned before there are many choices for shows besides Carolina Opry there is the the 'ONE' show at Alabama Theater, and at the Palace Theater, they have the 'Le Grande Cirque' guess its a European type circus, no animals alot of juggling, and acrobats, very entertaining, kids would enjoy.
Myrtle Beach is OHG's favorite place to go, can't wait for September to get here and its 8 days at MB.
Over the past several years now about 6 or 7, Ive been to every show place in MB, some more then once, with the exception of Medival Times.
I beleive the Carolina Opry has the best show, more toward the country side, but the 'One Show' at Alabama is very good.
Alot of really nice resturants to eat at, and 2 outlets malls for shopping.
Never been in the middle of summer, when it could be very crowded, OHG and DW fornunate to go usually right after Labor Day, we older folks, but not as old as the crowd gets in late September and October. First time down there about 6-7 yrs ago went last week in Sep or maybe it was first week in Oct., felt like senior week and I dont mean High School senior,
I might be getting a bit older now but, OHG still likes to look at things that are easy on the eyes.
Saturdays and Sundays in September really good for that, Coastal Carolina College is right outside Myrtle Beach and on the weekends, the beach is full with
chicks.
