T-Hawk? Check again. That's a Terminator2.
No, no. I know that. I was just refering to 2003 when we were all launching T-hawks, a pair of subs nearby were too, and while not as big, still spectacular.

Tommy has a little rocket booster that brings it up to turbine spool. T2 has Morton-Thiokol's best that takes it into orbit, so it can MIRV over downtown Pyongyang.

ok you two, how likely is it that they would be able to strike the US?
I thought they did not have the ability for long range.

Worse case, how would this affect us here?

They don't have the ability. Maybe to hit one of the Aluetian Islands, but that's it. The concern is more for Japan which they can hit.

Take a look at a map of the Pacific. Japan is right next door to Korea, where as anything the US owns is way far off. They would need a much larger missle to reach us. He's just using the whole nuclear thing to try to get attention really. Latest news report says he will cancel the nuke test if the US sit down to talks. That's what he wants us to do because it makes him look legit. He wants to be one of the big boys.

Oh ok, so this is a way to ask for help without looking like a loser?

Should we sit down and talk with them and assist them? Or if we do will that look as if we cater to people that use violence as a bargaining tool?

Bingo. He doesn't want help, he wants to be seen as a major player in the world politics scheme, when all he is is a sniveling little dictator of a backwater country that wouldn't even be around if it weren't for China. I say we don't sit down to talks. We tell him what to do and he either does it, or we blow up his toys.

Thanks Bustem,

I am feeling alot better now. Growing with the nuclear scare, this just brought back nightmares. :huggy:

I'll go on record as saying, again, that North Korea does not have any nuclear weapons. I think this big bruhaha over a potential test this weekend is another indicator of that. If they actually had nuclear weapons, and given their "we don't care" attitude about international relations, they would have already tested one or they would have gone ahead and done their test without notifying anyone. I think that one again, their imperious leader saw that Venezuela and Iran were getting all the attention for the past few weeks, so he has to make a big splash to get the World's attention focused back on him.

My money is on there being no test, and the reason will be that at the last second Kim decided to show compassion, or a willingness to work with the ill-tempered Americans, or whatever BS reason he comes up with to try to make him the bigger man, and once again he can act like he's sitting on a nuclear arsenal while the cupboard is actually bare.

Agreed and agreed. We should iggy his looney ass until he does something that warrants our attention. Right now he's just an annoying lil pimple.
