My grandmother bought this $12.00 bottle of clear polish that was suppose to prevent chipping :blahblah: and it didn't work either.

And that's exactly right because it's the same concept. You shouldn't buff your nails anyway because it thins them out and makes you more prone to peeling.

Pix, you can buy nail primers at just about any drugstore. That helps dry the nail bed and the polish will adhere better. Nail techs use this to keep fake nails and tips from lifting.

Clarification: no base coat with that. Just the nail primer, two coats of polish, top coat.

I always use OPI polish and OPI Rapidry (the spray, not the polish) afterward. I don't use a base or top coat, and the polish is usually chip-free for about a week. I type all day, and usually keep my nails fairly short.

I never knew buffing was bad, huh, maybe that is why my grandmother's $12.00 bottle of clear, primer polish, never worked.
