Hourly folks are 2 to a room. Salary employees are singles. Under 21 are in the dry wing. They try to pair folks up by age. Most singles end up moving in with someone more compatible after a week or 2.
BTW, there is no weekend in the park. Wednesday is just as busy as Saturday. Employee days off are in a row. Workers will often ask others when is your weekend(your days off). People hang out with the folks that are off the same days as them.
The company has dedicated recreation staff. They set up all sorts of tours. The J1s don't have cars so a 15 pax van shuttles them to Walmart to buy all things Walmarty. You can get a steep discount on boats and horseback rides if they are available. There is a softball league with a bunch of teams. The company runs an employee pub near the dorms. Drinks & snacks are pretty inexpensive. They have loaner camping gear you can sign out.
Employee indoctrination includes living around wildlife that can put a hurting on you. They also school everyone on how to survive in a place where 1 wrong step off the trail can lead to disaster. 1 Russian gal died from a fall from a cliff when she disregarded the safety rails while I was there.
I'd like to do it 1 more time. I caught a bunch of enormous cutthroat trout while I was out there. And the scenery out west never gets boring.

I spent a few months there in 2012. I have a hankering to go back this summer for an extended stay. Has anyone else visited there and what were your favorite parts? I did a lot of fishing while I was there. Plus the normal tourist things like Old Faithful, Mammoth and Jackson Hole.
