C hung a hummingbird feeder outside our bedroom window so I have something to look at when I'm playing invalid. Do I need to do something to let them know it's there? I don't think they've noticed.

Get a couple of bird feeders! They are a blast! My favorite is my finch feeder! Such bright colors and so many of them!
