I just hung up with Leonardtown MSP and they said it is still closed 10:35pm
said should open soon, and they are working on a press release.

Oops, I should have said "according to TheBayNet"...my bad - and theirs, too - for the misinformation.

Thanks for straightening that out!

On Sunday, July 7, at approximately 8:15pm, Troopers from the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack responded to Three Notch Road in the area of Hugh Drive and Jones Wharf Road in Hollywood for a motor vehicle collision involving BMW passenger car.

The BMW was occupied by two adults. One male was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. A 59 year old male was transported by ambulance to Prince George’s Shock Trauma.

So very sad. We spent the weekend with our daughter and future SIL in Olney, and drove home tonight in the rain and the 4th traffic. I am not a good passenger, so I do the wifi on my computer, and read this forum on the way home. My husband appreciates that, so as I am not stomping into the right floorboard. I feel so blessed to get home despite the crazy traffic. I can't even begin to account for how many stupid, dumazz, moronic idiots were driving with us on the road, today. Why is it that people that are flying down (aka bumper huggers) the road don't think we will not see them at the next traffic light, or don't think that they will be the reason that someone is killed? Again, so very sad. My thoughts and prayers are with those that did not make it home safely today.

There appears to be a piece of guardrail sticking out of the back of the vehicle. I would say he hit that pretty darn hard too.

dont think there was any guardrail in that area he hit.... I passed where the accident was this AM

(thats the metal part the bumper is mounted to) and you see the exhaust slung up sticking out from the underside of the front of the car

Holy Cow, the bumper got unwrapped and straightened out that much?!?!

did you see what happened to the exhaust.... and where that ended up?

a friend of mine had this car pass her and watched the accident happen right in front of her... she saw the person get ejected out of the car...

I feel sorry for a person to have to witness something like that. Prayers to the Family.

I saw what looked like part of the muffler sitting on the road in front of the car.

So sorry for your friend to witness this. I certainly respect when someone is killed in an accident (had a relative killed just two months ago in a horrific accident like this one), but I'm curious as to where the person was ejected from. I have heard the sunroof.....

I drove by the scene on my way home last night. Whoever used the word "gruesome" to describe it was 100% accurate. I do wonder exactly how that happened...

Wow. Sorry they had to witness that, but I'm sure the police appreciated their input.
