Near Miss With a Deer...

I had a near miss with a deer last night with riding on the back. I came over a hill and there it was As close as I was, I thought for sure that we were going to hit it. Without thinking, I pulled the clutch and hit the brakes which gave the deer just enough time to bolt out of the way. There was a second deer in the other lane and, luckily, it ran the other direction. It was also good that we were almost to her place since I don't know that she could have gone much further. She said she could smell the deer as we rode past...

I was amazed how many deer were out Friday-Saturday night, I counted 15 in a field of soybeans, they all looked up at me and paused for a nano second and went back munching.

My bro in law up in Michigan has hit two. Luckily no one was hurt. He rides slow on those back roads.

According to some of the farmers that I have talked to in the last couple of weeks, the deer are looking for water and soybeans have a high water content....much more than corn
