Nothing fancy. All they need is wireless capability to be set up on a home network and have a built in webcam. Windows 7. Don't need a large hard drive. Also need a wireless printer to go along with them. Recommendations?

And I am comparing 2 at HHgreg. What does this mean?

Wireless networking: 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi certified 802.11b/g/n

It means it's compatible with current WiFi standard (n), and backward compatible with (b) and (g). So if your wireless router supports any of those 3 protocols, you're good.

If I remember right, yours was a 'g' router.

As far as printers go, if you do not plan on doing photographic quality prints on a regular basis, a laser printer will be far less maintenance and cost in the long run. I like HP printers, but their software sucks, bloatware. Brothers seem to fail early. I've always had good luck with Epson.

Thanks D. I saw the word "certified" and wasn't sure if that means it has wifi built in. They are not for me, they are for a 9 & 10 year old. Here are the two I'm looking at.

802.11G is the protocol for wireless networking. Devices that comply with 802.11G are set up for wireless networking. 802.11b is an older version of the same standard, and 802.11n is the newer version. I have been told that one should not choose a device that only does 802.11n because there were problems with implementing it.

Have you looked at NewEgg?

I love, love, love my Epson!! I use it mostly for photos, but can print, scan, etc., and have always had good results.
